Launch Complex 39 - Space Shuttle Launch Tower

This kit consists of two structures. The Fixed Service Structure (FSS), which includes parts of the old Apollo/Saturn Launch Umbilical Tower, and the Rotating Service Structure (RSS) - a section rotating around a pivot point on the FSS, and rolling around on rails. The RSS rotates to cover the Space shuttle payload bay during pre-flight maintenance. It rotates out of the way for the launch.

This kit is being designed for use primarily with any 1:144 scale Space Shuttle stacks. It has been designed as a complement to RealSpace Models planned Space Shuttle Mobile Launch Platform to help modellers build a full launch complex.

A larger 1:72 scale LC-39 Space Shuttle MLP has proven popular enough that it will be produced by either LCM by Glenn at RealSpace Models.
