"Near the horizon, a gleaming silver tower bathed in floodlights,
stood the last of the Saturn Vs, for almost twenty years
a national monument and place of pilgrimage."

-2001, A Space Odyssey -Sir Arthur C. Clarke

In Development:

In order of priority:-

  • Launch Complex 39 - Apollo/Saturn Mobile Launcher - A kit including the Mobile Launcher with Launch Umbilical Tower and working swing-arms, made of plastic and photo-etch brass. Versions for different Apollo missions including SkyLab, and Saturn-1B rockets are all here. A full 'concrete' pad may also be made later if popular.

    Scales: 1:144, 1:96, 1:70, possibly also 1:72

  • Launch Complex 39 - Crawler Transporter - A Crawler Transporter, made mainly from Photo-etch brass, with working, steerable, tracks. Designed to work with all of the appropriate platforms and towers here on this site. A perfect display piece essential.

    Scales: 1:144, 1:96, 1:70, possibly also 1:72

  • Launch Complex 14 - Mercury/Atlas Launch Pad - A fully photo-etch brass model of the Launch Stand with Emergency Egress Gantry and flip-up Atlas Launcher (designed for use with RealSpace Models and New Ware Atlas models). A delivery 'truck' for the Atlas is being sought to complement the kit too.

    Scales: 1:144, 1:72

  • Launch Complex 14 - Mercury/Atlas Service Tower - To complement the Mercury Atlas Launch Pad, this model depicts the main A-frame Service Tower. This tower rolls back on rails on to a second movable platform. It has internal gantries which flip-up to allow the rocket full access, and a set of 'white room' sliding doors at the top to protect the capsule from the elements. This will also be available in 1:110 scale to match the Revell John Glenn Pad.

    Scales: 1:144, 1:110, 1:72

  • Saturn-V Horizontal Display Cradles - The only remaining real Saturn-V rockets are on display at a few locations in America such as the John F. Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The 'cradles' these massive rockets reside in make for a great horizontal display as both models and as the real thing.

    Scales: 1:144, 1:96, 1:70, possibly also 1:72

  • Launch Complex 39 - Apollo/Saturn Mobile Service Structure - The second tower used in conjunction with the Saturn V Mobile Launcher, also carried about by the Crawler Transports. This completes the LC-39 package - albeit missing the VAB!

    Scales: 1:144, 1:96, 1:70, possibly also 1:72

  • Launch Complex 34 - Apollo/Saturn 1 & 1B - The site where the Apollo 1 fire which killed Grissom, Chaffee and White took place. The model depicts both the Fixed Service Tower and the Mobile Service Tower on its rails. Both of the Flame buckets and the heavy Concrete Plinth which still stands at the Cape today are included.

    Scales: 1:144, possibly 1:72 & 1:70 too!

  • Launch Complex 39 - Space Shuttle Launch Tower - With many of the designs 'borrowed' from the Apollo Saturn kit, this complex will be made to be a complement to RealSpace Models Mobile Launch Platform for the Space Shuttle. The kit will model the Fixed Service Structure in place on the pad with working swing-arm, and will also include the Rotating Service Structure and the Water Tower.

    Scales: 1:144, now 1:72 too!

  • Launch Complex 39 - Space Shuttle Mobile Launch Platform - After sufficient demand, a large Mobile Launch Platform for all Airfix and Revell/Monogram Shuttle Stack kits.

    Scales: 1:144, 1:72

  • Launch Complex 19 - Gemini/Titan II - Another mainly photo-etch brass tower designed for use with RealSpace Models Gemini Titan II models. This kit is designed to raise the launch vehicle from horizontal to vertical, just as the original did.

    Scales: 1:144, 1:72

  • Launch Complex 5 - Mercury/Redstone - Includes the main Service Tower, with working 'splitting' white room, the Egress Crane and the tiny Launch Stand the rocket sits upon.

    Scales: 1:144, 1:72, now 1:48 too!

  • Space Shuttle Mate/De-Mate Device - To go with Revell 1:144 Shuttle/747 models, this mainly photo-etch model will detail the structure used to attach/remove a Space Shuttle from the back of NASA's modified Boeing 747 carrier.

    Scales: 1:144

Proposed Future Projects:

Other Pads are being considered as kits, even including Russian Launch Pads, such as those that launched the N-1 Moon-rocket, the Energiya-Buran Russian Space Shuttle and the modern Proton and Soyuz/R7 sites. Various Ariane pads and Japanese J-1 & H-II sites are also being looked into. If a Pad appeals to you and is not in the of planned kits above, look here.
